🇬🇧 How to Stay Safe on Holidays After Covid-19
Updated: Apr 21
According to this link, Bert TerHart, a Canadian Sailor is at open seas with his 40 feet boat to make a circumnavigation since November 2019. He is doing this without electronic navigation devices. And he is defined as the safest person on earth against Covid-19 since he has not been in touch with anyone for several months.
We all have the common hope which is to come over Covid-19 trouble in the soonest while and get back to our normal days. We call “normal days” but how “normal” will it be again? Are we going to be doing the same type of holidays? How bad the tourism industry be affected?
It is not possible to give optimistic answers to those questions now. According to UNWTO, %96 of all worldwide destinations have introduced travel restrictions. Not easy to tell until when. But there is something I know for sure; before Covid-19 sailing was great and it will still be great after Covid-19.
Bert TerHart is the best definition for staying safe. You are safe in a boat. It doesn’t matter how far away you are from land. Even on the most beautiful bays, you will have the possibility to make the most isolated and most peaceful holiday. Still you will stay safe.
We wish that Covid-19 has never happened. Near future might increase the demand on sailing holidays. We will see and experience.
